Notes
In 1962 prof. Manzo of the Fruit-growing Experimental Institute of Rome, obtained this variety by crossing the Italia and Cardinal grapes.

AMPELOGRAPHIC CHARACTERS
Medium-large oval bunch, its weight goes from 700 to 800 gr. Very large, round-shaped berry. Crisp pulp with an aromatic flavour. Thick, consistent pruinous peel with a golden yellow colour.

Its vigour is very good, prefers big growing and a not very long pruning. Among all early but with seed varieties, the Matilde is one of the most important ones, although today, it is not much appreciated by consumers.
