It has a very ancient origin, comes from Greece and Aegean Isles. Today is very popular in the Mediterranean countries. Malvasia Bianca is one of the most planted throughout Italy, where it is used for the production of other 11 Malvasie DOC and is prominent as a blender with other 50 DOC wines. With the right vinification, it can give a white dry wine of character or in association with other vines it aids in softening the wine characteristics.

AMPELOGRAPHIC CHARACTERS
The bunch is big, long and winged; berry medium – discoid, gold – yellow coloured with greenish nuances, it has a good resistance on the bunch. The peel is pruinous, the pulp is juicy with the typical taste of this variety.

COLTURAL APTITUDES
Vigorous and productive vine, it is suited for different forms of growing, prefers long and rich pruning. It needs not too cold soils and hot and dry climates.

PRODUCTION AND VINTAGE
Production is abundant and constant, the ripening comes about in the fist half of September.

WINE CHARACTERS
The wine is gold – yellow coloured with a pleasant flavour and a muscat aroma. It performs well if blended with other grapes, giving the other white wines a particular bouquet and aroma.
