Notes
The grape variety is of Etruscan origin, it is one of the most common white variety in Italy. This vine is part of a family of important DOC such as: Val Trebbia dei Colli Piacentini, Trebbiano di Aprilia, Trebbiano di Arborea, Trebbiano di Capriano del Colle, Trebbiano d’ Abruzzo, Trebbiano di Romagna.
AMPELOGRAPHIC CHARACTERS
Large, semi-compact with side bunches. Medium-sized berries, discoid, of a rather regular shape; the color is clear or pinkish yellow. The peel is moderate resistant to breaking; the pulp is juicy, sweet – acidulous, neutral.
COLTURAL APTITUDES
Very vigorous vine, it is suited for all kind of soils and climate conditions. It tolerates frost but it does not perform well under summer drought conditions. It prefers long pruning but is also suited for pruning to 3 – 4 buds.
PRODUCTION AND VINTAGE
Thanks to the size of the bunch, the production is very good and abundant. The ripening comes about in the first or second decade of October.
WINE CHARACTERS
The wine has a yellow – white colour, good bouquet and fine flavour. Thanks to its characteristics, it can be blended in big percentage with other important wines without crushing their aroma. |
